The RVF’s programs in Georgia strive to prevent the transmission of HIV and hepatitis B from mother to child and to ensure the timely treatment of hypothyroidism in newborns. Even though the country has limited financial resources, the government of Georgia is contributing both money and its own | |

| experts to the achievement of these goals. The ministry of health took over the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination program in January 2010. |
